Mechanical Maintenance ‐ Molder Assembly Kit
The Molder Assembly Kit contains a set of parts and associated instructions - to provide students with an opportunity to learn and practice the hand skills required for maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.
Students are led, via comprehensive instructions, through the process of assembling and testing a working plastics injection molder. The Mechanical Maintenance ‐ Molder Assembly Kit (350-10) contains all the parts necessary to complete the task, together with spare items where required. The kit contains over 120 separate components.
There are over 35 steps in the assembly process and these steps include: drilling, reaming, pressing, fastening with screws, use of jigs, fitting of sleeves and gaiters, lubrication, cutting, wiring and soldering.
The completed product is a working molder capable of melting plastic granules and injecting them under pressure into a mold. The completed machine must incorporate automatic temperature control and shut-off which requires calibration of the transducer.
