EV Motors and Generators Panel Trainer
The EV Motors and Generators Panel Trainer (742-01) is focussed on motor speed control, and uses a variety of sensors to feed back motor position and speed. Electrical circuit operation is illustrated under different conditions – Throttle, Brake, and Direction of Travel.
The trainer includes a variety of test points for vehicle electrical components including the facility to test each phase of a 3-phase motor. A series of pre-set scenarios are included – which are used to set various parameters of the vehicle to reflect different operating conditions. As well as these scenarios, a series of switchable faults for fault diagnostic exercises are incorporated with an onboard scan tool also included for reading fault codes.
The EV Motors and Generators Panel Trainer operates at scaled voltages that are completely safe for users, the trainer also uses conveniently scaled timeframes for driving distance and battery charge consumption.
Typical Practical Tasks Include:
- System Start-Up Procedures
- Disabling the HV System
- Operation of the Inverter Circuit
- Pulse Width Modulation Control
- The Three Phase Traction Motor
- Generator Operation
- Troubleshooting:
- Drivetrain Faults
- IGBT and PEM Components
- Sensors
- The Start-Up Circuit
