WEEE Returns and Recycling
LJ Create are committed to reducing waste and supporting the responsible reuse, recovery and recycling of electrical equipment wherever possible. When products reach the end of their working life, we want to help ensure they are handled in a more sustainable and environmentally responsible way.
This aligns with the purpose of the UK WEEE regulations, which is intended to reduce the amount of electrical waste sent to landfill or incineration and encourage recovery, reuse and recycling.
What is WEEE?
WEEE stands for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment. In simple terms, this means electrical items that are no longer wanted, usable, or suitable for continued use and need to be collected, treated, reused, recovered or recycled appropriately. In UK guidance, electrical and electronic equipment generally means equipment that depends on electric currents or electromagnetic fields to work properly, including many mains-powered, battery-powered and some solar-powered products.
Why electrical waste should be kept separate?
Electrical waste should not be disposed of with general waste. Keeping WEEE separate helps reduce environmental harm and allows materials and components to be reused, recovered and recycled more effectively.
What does the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol mean?
If your product or its documentation shows the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol, this indicates that the item should not be disposed of with ordinary household waste and should instead be collected separately for proper treatment and recycling.
